Twitter Card Types Explained
Twitter (now X) supports four card types, each suited to different content. The Summary Large Image card is the most commonly used โ it shows a full-width image above the title and description, making it ideal for blog posts, articles, and landing pages. The image should be at least 300ร157px with a 2:1 ratio, though 1200ร628px is recommended.
The Summary card shows a small thumbnail alongside the text, suitable for pages where the image is secondary. App cards are designed for mobile apps and display App Store / Google Play download buttons directly in the tweet. Player cards embed audio or video content that plays inline in the timeline.

twitter:site is the Twitter handle of the website or publication. twitter:creator is the handle of the individual content creator or author. Both should include the @ symbol. If your site has a single account, you can use the same handle for both.

Twitter Card tags don't directly influence Google rankings, but they significantly affect click-through rates on social shares, which can drive traffic that indirectly signals content quality to search engines.
